About Your Session
Q: Do you have a studio?
A: Currently, no. I am what you would consider a freelance photographer but do plan on owning a studio someday.
Q: Where are photos taken?
A: I prefer to take photos outdoors in natural lighting and I do all of my work on location so the possibilities are endless. If you prefer to use a backdrop, that will be no problem. We could always do indoors or we could take the backdrops outdoors! It depends on your style.
At our consultation(whether it be in person or over the phone) I will ask you what you normally prefer- urban, modern, traditional, outdoors. From there, we can discuss different options. There are many different locations in Scioto County that offer beautiful backdrops for photos. I have taken photos at Shawnee State Forest, River Front, at the Portsmouth Floodwall Murals, etc. There are a lot of nice locations even in Downtown Portsmouth including lots of parks and architecture. I’m always searching for new, unique locations so if you have an idea, let me know about it!
Q: What should we wear?
A: Wear something that you feel comfortable in but don’t play it too safe, lots colors and patterns are okay too! For maternity clients, wear shirts that are form fitting for your belly or dresses that accent the bump- not hide it. Senior portrait clients, make sure to bring at least 3 outfits! Have a Letterman jacket? A sports or club uniform? An outfit that makes you feel like ‘you’? Bring em all!
Q: Can I print the images that are on my CD/DVD?
A: Yes, with the purchase of my proof CDs and DVDs there is a print release included. I do however strongly reccommend that you do NOT print your photos at Wal-Mart, CVS, Walgreens, etc. They will likely turn out dark, have odd color casts and will not be as sharp. You can either have prints made through me(sometimes at a much more reasonable cost) or I can recommend you to a decent lab.
Q: How long does it usually take to see my photos?
A: I try my hardest to send you a sneak peek within 36 hours of your session. Most sessions are ready for viewing online in their entirety within 4-7 days*! When prints are selected, please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery
* Review and Delivery time depend on the amount of photos taken and the amount of editing that goes into each photo.
Q: Do all sessions get posted on your blog?
A: Yes, I post photos on my blog and on facebook/flickr unless you specifically request them not to be.
Q: How do I book/pay for a session?
A: You can book a session by calling or emailing me. 20% of the session is due at the time of the booking. The remaining balance is due before photos can be picked up/received.
Q: What are your payment methods?
A: Currently I only take Cash or Check.
Q: What do we do if the weather is bad?
A: Let’s face it, Mother Nature is not always kind to us and living in Ohio, the weather is definitely not predictable from one day to the next. In the occasion that there is bad weather, we can simply reschedule at a later date and there will be no charge.
Q: What if I can’t make it to my session?
A: Life, like the weather, can be unpredictable, so if you need to cancel/postpone, I will understand. I can’t however, promise that I will be able to reschedule for a close date, but I will try my best to work around you. To avoid being unfair to my other clients, if you cancel/postpone at the last minute, there will be a charge of $20.
